Names David Straten Director of
Graphic Packaging
Provider of Corrugated Packaging Strengthens Focus on Direct Print Capabilities
Kentwood, MI — Advance Packaging Corporation, a custom corrugated packaging manufacturer in Grand Rapids, Michigan announced today the appointment of David Straten as Director of Graphic Packaging. Straten will head the company’s graphic packaging program.
Advance Packaging recently made major investments in plant, equipment and technology, building the largest manufacturing facility in the region in 2006. Straten will augment these initiatives, bringing 26 years of technical experience in the graphic packaging industry. Previously, Straten served as Graphics Packaging Manager at Smurfit-Stone, Graphics Manager at Lewisburg Container, andPackaging Graphics Designer for Anchor Hocking Corporation. He has also held consulting roles for several corrugated and related companies. Straten currently serves as Vice-Chair, Printers/Converters on the Board of Directors of the Flexographic Technical Association (FTA)-a resourceful technical society exclusively for the flexographic printing industry- and is on the Board of Trustees of the FTA.
Straten was a key contributor to the creation of The Corrugated Print Guide, an educational book designed to aid those involved in the production of graphics on corrugated. He and his teams have also won several domestic and European Best-of-Show, Gold, Silver and Bronze Flexographic Technical Association awards, including a first-ever Best of Show award for flexographic print on corrugated media.
